Flos Mayday

Mayday is a sustainable all-rounder. In a compact and aesthetically pleasing way, Mayday packs a whole range of functions and application possibilities. Its hook/handle doubles as a cable winder and its conical opal diffuser spreads a pleasantly soft and glare-free illumination. The diffuser is manufactured in a resource-friendly way from sustainable injection-moulded polypropylene, which comes from industrial waste. The light source is additionally protected by an impermeable, transparent capsule made of sealed polymethyl methacrylate with an elastomer seal. Thanks to its solid construction, Mayday complies with the IP65 degree of protection and thus defies wind and weather.

The designer Konstantin Grcic and Flos have created Mayday in such a way that it can be used flexibly as a floor or table lamp, but can also be hung on hooks, rods or similar thanks to the specially shaped handle, which is great for carrying it back and forth quickly. It can therefore also be used as a wall, ceiling or room lamp, depending on the respective circumstances and your application wishes. Whether in the house, on the balcony or in the garden – Mayday provides pleasant and beautiful lighting wherever you want, all you need is a socket.

And by the way: since no adhesives are used in the assembly process, Mayday is easy to disassemble so that all parts can be disposed of in an adequate manner, a plus for the environment!
