PH 3/2 Tischleuchte Louis Poulsen
The PH 3/2 table lamp is a milestone in the history of design, and still characterizes the Danish design. The numbers in the model description refer to the size of the respective shade elements. Thus the model PH 3/2 consists of an upper segment of 30 cm diameter and two smaller ones.
The elements are arranged according to the principle of the logarithmic spiral. Poul Henningsen, the creator of the PH series, was the first to deal with the light on a scientific basis. Through the use of glass, he achieved an even distribution of the lighting and a diffuse reflection of the lighting into the room. Shutter effects and shadows can be influenced as desired. Louis Poulsen still profits from Henningsen's brilliant ideas.
Since the first designs of the three-piece lampshade in the years 1925/26, the PH series has remained faithful to its original aesthetics. Some variations in colour and material have been adapted to the respective changing time-spirit. And, of course, the PH lamps are technically always up-to-date.
