LDM was founded in 1991. In the beginning the LDM Licht GmbH was a supplier for other light manufacturers like Axel Meise. With growing success the wish arose to work on their own projects and to find independent design solutions. The results are really impressive: clear shapes, which are a synthesis of classical and modern elements, combined with technical finesse. While “less is more” is LDM's dominant design concept, it is quite the opposite when it comes to the lights' manufacturing and processing. The high standards in production and quality checks without compromises guarantee a durable functionality for each and every lamp. LDM lights are reduced to the original functionality of a light fitting. However, this does not mean a surrender to simplicity: in LDM’s philosophy it is rather a return to the roots. Accordingly, LDM luminaires do not have a too much which distracts from the actual function. LDM’s goal is to create light specifically where it is needed. Clear shapes and modern materials provide an energy-efficient and functional illumination.
