Catellani & Smith Fil de Fer Ground Lamp LED Ø 70cm

In the early 1990’s the Italian designer Catellani created his magnum opus: within a short amout of time Fil de Fer catapulted him to designer stardom. Since 2002 small quantaties of Fil de Fer lamps are produced for private customers – solely as handcrafted pieces. When a Fil de Fer ground lamp leaves the workshop of Catellani & Smith in the Northern Italian town of Bergamo, the customer can rest assured to receive an absolutely unique item. Even in the realm of high-quality designer lamps this has become a rare practice indeed. Since making his dreams come true with the establishment of his company Catelanni & Smith in 1989, the Italian designer has never given up on this promise. True connoisseurs of individual lighting art are truly fortunate that there is no machine capable of folding, bending, and looping two to three millimetre thick aluminium wire.
